SUE KEMP SWS, TWS
Sue May Kemp was born in Dallas, Texas and has lived in Austin
with her husband, Thomas, since 1987. She earned a B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of North Texas. After teaching
in the public schools for a few years, she pursued her love of art, concentrating on painting in watercolor.
Sue has been on the faculty of The Art School of Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria since 2002 and
is President of Texas Watercolor Society and signature member(Purple Sage Honor Society).She is a signature member of
Southwestern Watercolor Society and a past president of Waterloo Watercolor Group. Sue is also a member of Capitol
Art Society, Third Coast Painters and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Sue is a
former member of the Texas Wild Bunch and was a partner in the Littlefield Gallery in Austin. Sue is a prolific artist
and popular teacher and workshop instructor.

Sue has been painting for over twenty five years, beginning study
under noted teachers Bud Biggs, Naomi Brotherton, Leo Smith and M. Douglas Walton in the 1980's. She has studied
with many reknown artists and continues to take occasional workshops. She has exhibited her paintings in the Cannon House
of Representatives, Washington, D.C., the Texas State Capitol and in many juried competitions. Her work is included
in private and corporate collections.
